Digital design is a branch of graphic design based on the use of multimedia software for desktop computers, pads and portable devices. It includes many areas of interest, from web design to architectural computer-aided design.
Digital designers are able to perform the same tasks as graphic designers. However, their knowledge and skills expand to include and focus on digital applications.
Forms of media they may produce include online ads, digital billboards, and 3-D or 2-D animation. Digital designers may work in web design, UX design, animation, video game design, graphic design, special effects, advertising and video production.
Digital designs are created using commercially available application software such as Corel Graphic Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, others similar to these and other special-purpose design software.
The result of the design work is an image that is made up of pixels that are electronically generated, stored, transmitted or displayed for further reproduction, viewing or processing.
