Patricia Urquiola is an architect and designer born in 1961. Spanish by birth and Italian by choice, she is known for working with famous firms the like of Cappellini, Cassina, Kettal and B&B Italia.

Urquiola’s Formation between Spain and Italy
Patricia Urquiola was born in Oviedo, Spain in 1931. She studied Architecture at the Politecnico of Madrid at first, and later at Politecnico in Milan, where she graduated in Architecture and Design in 1989 with Achille Castiglioni. After occupying the role of assistant lecturer for Castiglioni and collaborating with Vico Magistretti and Lissoni Associates she opened her own studio in 2001, working in the field of product design and architecture.
Among her most recent works, there is the “Jewel” museum in Vicenza, as well as the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Barcelona, the Das Stue Hotel in Berlin and the Spa Four Seasons Hotel in Milan.

Urquiola’s Extensive Customer Portfolio
Urquiola customers portfolio lists important names such as Gianvito Rossi, BMW, Cassina, Ferragamo, Flos, Missoni, Molteni, Officine Panerai, H&M, Santoni and Pitti Uomo Firenze.
She has designed and produced furniture for the most important Italian and international companies, among the others: Agape, Alessi, Axor-Hansgrohe, Baccarat, Boffi, Budri, De Padova, Driade, Flos, Gan, Georg Jensen, Glas Italia, Haworth, Kartell, Kvadrat, Listone Giordano, Louis Vuitton, Moroso, Mutina, Rosenthal and Verwood.

An exquisite selection of Urquiola’s best works is exhibited in a number of museums all around the world. Among the most important it is worth to mention the New York MoMA, the Musée des Arts Decoratifs in Parigi, the Museum of Design in Zurigo, the Vitra Design Museum in Basel, the Victoria & Albert Museum of London, the Stedelijk in Amsterdam and the Triennale Museum in Milan.
